HP 440 G1 Overview
Thin at 0.91″ and built with soft touch paint on the LCD and a brushed aluminum keyboard deck, the 14″ ProBook 440 G1 Notebook (ENERGY STAR) from HP is designed for those who require powerful performance whether in their office or on the go. The system is powered by a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i5-4210M Dual-Core processor, allowing you to run multiple applications simultaneously. If you need more power, the CPU may be overclocked to 2.6 GHz. The system’s 8GB of 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM has an SO-DIMM form factor and allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs and also helps to ensure efficient multitasking.
The 14″ SVA anti-glare LED-backlit display features an HD 1366 x 768 native resolution and a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 delivers a sharp, clear picture and you’ll also be able to output video to an external display using the HDMI and VGA ports.
For long-term storage of your files, this system has a 500GB 5400 rpm SATA hard drive with an 8GB cache that provides quick access to your data. An SSHD, or Solid State Hybrid Drive, combines a traditional hard drive with NAND flash solid state drive (SSD) technology. The purpose of the SSD in a hybrid drive is to act as a cache for the data stored on the HDD, improving the overall performance by keeping copies of the most frequently used data on the SSD.
If you want to connect external peripherals, such as external storage, optical drives, or memory card readers, this system has 2 x USB 3.0 ports and 2 x USB 2.0 ports. There is also a built-in SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card reader and network connectivity may be achieved using the Realtek Gigabit Ethernet port or Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11ac (1×1) Wi-Fi. Additional compatible peripherals, such as keyboards, mice, and headsets, may be paired using Bluetooth 4.0 technology.
Whether you are listening to music, watching a movie, or playing a game, this notebook has built-in stereo speakers with DTS sound which will provide listening enjoyment. Additionally, the integrated dual-microphone array may be used to record your own audio or use it alongside the built-in 720p webcam to engage in face-to-face conversations using Skype or other software. The ProBook 440 G2 Notebook operates using an included 45W Smart AC adapter and its 4-cell / 44Wh Lithium-ion battery will operate for up to 5.5 hours before recharging is required. The installed operating system is Windows 10 Pro (64-bit).

- Cortana
- Microsoft’s digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills
- Microsoft Edge

- Windows Continuum
- Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it’s not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well

Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift
- Windows 10 Pro
